"Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning."
Jesus told us to "teach all nations...teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you" (Mt. 28:19, 20). Part of that teaching process involves the discipling of new believers. (That's disciple, not discipline.)
Too often, new believers are left to fend for themselves. Yes, they are welcomed into the church and encouraged to attend Sunday school and a midweek service, but the issues that most confound and challenge new believers are set aside for the issues that most affect the church body. As a result, people enter the church without understanding what the security of the believer is, what being born again really means, what God wants of their life, or what power lies in prayer.
Therefore, we have developed a short study for new believers entitled "Discipling New Believers." We hope to make this the first of a series of booklets designed to guide people through the rapids of life that can easily steer the new believer into false doctrine or bad habits. Yet we also seek to remind mature believers of the pillars of our faith so that their faith may be strong.
Please pray for us as we develop further topics of study, and if there is something that particularly interests you, please don't hesitate to send us an email about it.
